Présentation
N'est pas interprète qui veut. Il faut être formé, certes, mais surtout respecter une déontologie propre à la profession.
L'interprète maîtrise et enrichit quotidiennement toutes ses langues de travail, en particulier sa langue maternelle (ou langue A, celle vers laquelle il interprète). Il se tient au courant de l'actualité au sens large, dans les domaines économiques, politiques mais aussi scientifiques, sportifs, etc. Il met à jour ses compétences et garantit la qualité de ses prestations.
Il est tenu au secret professionnel pour tous les documents et toutes les informations auxquels il a accès avant, pendant, après une conférence ou toute autre événement au cours duquel il intervient.

ENGAGEMENTS
To be a Conference Interpreter, you should of course train for it but, most importantly, you must respect the code of ethics of the profession.
Any interpreter not only masters all their working languages, in particular their mother tongue or A language (into which they interpret), they also work daily to enrich their linguistic knowledge. Interpreters also follow what happens in politics, economics, science, sports, and many other fields. They update their skills regularly and are responsible for the quality check of their work.
Interpreters are bound to secrecy about every document, every information they come across before, during or after a meeting in which they participate.
